Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Has the news of the overwhelming event reached you? 1 Some faces will on that Day be downcast, 2 Laboring, toiling, 3 they shall enter a burning Fire 4 Made to drink water from the boiling hot spring. 5 No food for them save the bitterness of dry thorns, 6 Which doth not nourish nor release from hunger. 7 [Other] faces, that Day, will show pleasure. 8 Glad with their endeavour (for their good deeds which they did in this world, along with the true Faith of Islamic Monotheism). 9 In a high Garden 10 wherein they will not hear any vain talk. 11 Countless springs will flow therein, 12 and raised couches, 13 And cups set at hand. 14 And cushions lined up 15 And rich carpets spread. 16 Then do they not look at the camels - how they are created? 17 And the heaven – how it has been raised? 18 And the hills, how they are set up? 19 And how the earth was outstretched? 20 Therefore do thou give admonition, for thou art one to admonish. 21 You are not a warden over them, 22 Other than him who turns his back and denies, 23 Allah will chastise him with the most terrible chastisement. 24 To Us is surely their returning; 25 Then indeed only upon Us is their reckoning. 26
