Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Has the news of the overwhelming event reached you? 1 [Some] faces, that Day, will be humbled, 2 labouring, weary, 3 They will [enter to] burn in an intensely hot Fire. 4 Made to drink from a boiling spring. 5 no food for them but cactus thorn 6 Which neither give strength nor satisfy the hunger. 7 Many a face will be in serenity on that day. 8 well pleased with their striving, 9 They will live in an exalted garden 10 Never hearing idle talk. 11 Therein will be a bubbling spring: 12 [and] there will be thrones [of happiness] raised high, 13 and goblets set at hand, 14 and cushions arrayed 15 And rich carpets (all) spread out. 16 Then do they not look at the camels - how they are created? 17 And the heavens, how it was raised high; 18 And the mountains how they have been established? 19 And the earth: how it was spread out? 20 Therefore remind, you are only a Reminder. 21 you are not their keeper. 22 Other than him who turns his back and denies, 23 Allah will chastise him with the greatest chastisement. 24 To Us is surely their returning; 25 Ours is surely then to reckon with them. 26
Almighty God's Truth.
