Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
HAS THERE COME unto thee the tiding of the Overshadowing Event? 1 Some faces, that Day, will be humiliated, 2 Toiling, weary, 3 Burning in the scorching fire, 4 and will be made to drink from a fiercely boiling spring. 5 No food for them save the bitterness of dry thorns, 6 Neither nourishing nor banishing hunger. 7 (Other) faces, that Day, will be joyful, 8 well-pleased with their striving. 9 in a sublime garden, 10 where they will hear no idle talk. 11 Therein is a fountain flowing, 12 Therein shall be couches elevated! 13 And goblets set at hand 14 And cushions set in rows, 15 And carpets spread around. 16 So do they not see the camel – how it has been created? 17 And at the heaven, how it is raised? 18 And at the mountains - how they are erected? 19 And the earth: how it was spread out? 20 So remind them (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)), you are only a one who reminds. 21 Thou art not at all a warder over them. 22 But whosoever will turn back and disbelieve 23 Allah will punish him with direst punishment. 24 To Us they will all return. 25 And Ours their reckoning. 26
