Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Have you heard the story of the overwhelming event (the Day of Judgment)? 1 Some faces, that Day, will be humiliated, 2 Toiling, weary, 3 They will [enter to] burn in an intensely hot Fire. 4 Drinking from a boiling spring, 5 They will have no food other than bitter and thorny fruit 6 which will neither nourish nor satisfy hunger. 7 Many a face will be in serenity on that day. 8 Well-pleased because of their striving, 9 In a lofty garden, 10 wherein thou wilt hear no empty talk. 11 Therein will be a running spring, 12 Wherein are couches raised 13 And goblets ready placed! 14 And cushions set in rows, 15 and rich carpets levelled out. 16 What, do they not consider how the camel was created, 17 And at the sky, how it is raised aloft? 18 And the hills, how they are set up? 19 And at the earth, how it is spread out? 20 So remind them (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)), you are only a one who reminds. 21 You are not a warden over them, 22 Other than him who turns his back and denies, 23 Then Allah will punish him with the greatest punishment. 24 Surely to Us is their return; 25 And Ours their reckoning. 26
Almighty Allah's Truth.
