Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Has not there come to you the news of the overwhelming calamity? 1 Some faces that Day shall be downcast with fear, 2 be toiling and worn-out; 3 Burning in the scorching fire, 4 They will be given drink from a boiling spring. 5 no food for them except thorny plants 6 which gives no strength and neither stills hunger. 7 Many faces will be joyous on that day, 8 With their effort [they are] satisfied 9 In a lofty Paradise. 10 wherein thou wilt hear no empty talk. 11 Wherein is a gushing spring, 12 Wherein are couches raised 13 well arranged goblets, 14 and arranged cushions 15 and rich carpets levelled out. 16 Do (these unbelievers) not observe the camels: how they were created? 17 And the heaven, how it is reared aloft, 18 And at the mountains - how they are erected? 19 And the earth: how it was spread out? 20 So remind them (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)), you are only a one who reminds. 21 You are not a warden over them, 22 Save the one who turns away and disbelieves 23 In which case he will be punished by God with the severest punishment. 24 Verily, to Us will be their return; 25 and then it is for Us to call them to account. 26
God the Almighty always says the truth.

Notes and Instructions
ColorfulQuran.com displays pages in one of three Arabic fonts. Each may appear with a one-third chance, adding more diversity to the already diverse colors. And the words remain unchanged forever. ColorfulQuran.com will have more beautiful fonts soon, God willing.
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
