Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Hath there come unto thee the story of the Enveloping Event? 1 On that Day, there shall be downcast faces, 2 laboring, wornout, 3 they shall enter a burning Fire 4 Made to drink from a boiling spring. 5 There is no food for them except thorns of fire. 6 that will neither nourish nor satisfy their hunger. 7 Faces on that day jocund, 8 with their striving well-pleased, 9 In a high Garden. 10 where they will hear no idle talk, 11 Therein will be a flowing spring, 12 Therein shall be couches elevated! 13 And goblets ready placed! 14 And cushions ranged! 15 And carpets spread around. 16 Do they not look at the Camels, how they are made?- 17 And the sky: how it was raised high? 18 And at the mountains, how they are rooted and fixed firm? 19 And the earth, how it is spread? 20 Remind them; you are surely a reminder. 21 You are not at all a guardian over them. 22 Other than him who turns his back and denies, 23 Then Allah will punish him with the greatest punishment. 24 Surely to Us is their turning back, 25 Then, surely, it is for Us to call them to account. 26
