Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Hath there come unto thee tidings of the Overwhelming? 1 On that Day, there shall be downcast faces, 2 laboring, wornout, 3 The while they enter the Blazing Fire,- 4 The while they are given, to drink, of a boiling hot spring, 5 no food for them but cactus thorn 6 Which will neither nourish nor avail against hunger. 7 However, on that day the faces of other people will be happy. 8 well-pleased with their striving. 9 They shall be in a Garden lofty: 10 Wherein they will hear no unsuitable speech. 11 Wherein is a gushing spring, 12 Therein are thrones raised high, 13 and goblets set at hand, 14 Cushions arranged, 15 And silken carpets spread. 16 Will they not then consider the camels, how they are created? 17 And at the sky - how it is raised? 18 And at the mountains, how firmly they are reared? 19 And the earth, how it was spread out? 20 Therefore advise; indeed you are a proclaimer of advice. (The Holy Prophet is a Remembrance from Allah.) 21 You are not a dictator over them. 22 Save the one who turns away and disbelieves 23 Allah will punish him with direst punishment. 24 Indeed, to Us is their return. 25 and verily, It is for Us to call them to account. 26
