Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Has the story reached thee of the overwhelming (Event)? 1 Faces on that day humbled, 2 Labouring (hard in the worldly life by worshipping others besides Allah), weary (in the Hereafter with humility and disgrace). 3 roasting at a scorching fire, 4 and will be made to drink from a fiercely boiling spring. 5 No food shall be theirs save bitter thorn, 6 which will neither fatten them nor satisfy them. 7 On that very Day some faces shall be radiant with joy, 8 well pleased with their striving, 9 In a lofty garden, 10 where they will hear no idle talk. 11 with a flowing spring, 12 Therein are thrones raised high, 13 and goblets set forth 14 and arranged cushions 15 And rich carpets spread. 16 Do they not look at the Camels, how they are made?- 17 And how the heaven was raised up, 18 and on the mountains, how they are firmly set up, 19 And the earth, how it is made a vast expanse? 20 Therefore do thou give admonition, for thou art one to admonish. 21 Thou art not at all a warder over them. 22 But whosoever will turn back and disbelieve 23 Him Allah shall torment with the greatest torment. 24 To Us is surely their returning; 25 and then it is for Us to call them to account. 26
