Dawn (Al-Fajr)
30 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Night (Al-Layl) before The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the dawn; 1 And ten nights, 2 And [by] the even [number] and the odd 3 and by the night when it moves on towards daybreak (reward and retribution in the next life is an absolute reality). 4 Is there in that an oath for the mindful? 5 Have you not heard of how your Lord dealt with the tribe of 'Ad, 6 the people of the huge columned city of Eram 7 the like of which has never been created in the land, 8 (Also consider how He dealt with) the Thamud, who carved their houses out of the rocks in the valley. 9 And with Firaun, who used to crucify. 10 [All of] whom oppressed within the lands 11 and brought about great corruption therein: 12 Then their Lord unloosed upon them the lash of chastisement. 13 for, verily, thy Sustainer is ever on the watch! 14 As for the human being, when his Lord tests him, honors him, and grants him bounty, he says, "God has honored me". 15 But when He tries him by restraining his means, he says: "My Lord despises me." 16 No! But you do not honor the orphan 17 nor do you urge one another to feed the poor, 18 and you devour the inheritance greedily, 19 And love wealth with abounding love. 20 Nay! When the earth is pounded to powder, 21 and [the majesty of] thy Sustainer stands revealed, as well as [the true nature of] the angels; rank upon rank? 22 On that day, hell will be brought closer and the human being will come to his senses, but this will be of no avail to him. 23 He will say: Ah, would that I had sent before me (some provision) for my life! 24 So on that Day, none will punish as He will punish. 25 nor will any bind as He binds. 26 O satisfied soul, 27 return unto thy Lord, well-pleased, well-pleasing! 28 "Enter thou, then, among My devotees! 29 enter My Paradise! 30
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
