Dawn (Al-Fajr)
30 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Night (Al-Layl) before The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I swear by the daybreak, 1 and the ten nights! 2 by the even and the odd, 3 and by the night when it moves on towards daybreak (reward and retribution in the next life is an absolute reality). 4 is there not in this strong evidence for a man of sense? 5 Did you (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) not see (thought) how your Lord dealt with 'Ad (people)? 6 (The people of) Aram, possessors of lofty buildings, 7 The like of which were not created in the (other) cities; 8 (Also consider how He dealt with) the Thamud, who carved their houses out of the rocks in the valley. 9 And (with) Fir'aun (Pharaoh), who had pegs (who used to torture men by binding them to pegs)? 10 Who did transgress beyond bounds in the lands (in the disobedience of Allah). 11 And multiplied corruption. 12 So your Lord poured upon them a scourge of punishment. 13 For thy Lord is (as a Guardian) on a watch-tower. 14 As for man, when his Lord tests him by honoring him and favoring him, he says: 'My Lord, has honored me' 15 However, when his Lord tests him by a measured amount of sustenance, he says, "God has disgraced me". 16 But no; you do not treat the orphan honourably, 17 And do not urge one another to feed the needy. 18 And devour the inheritance devouring greedily, 19 and you love wealth with boundless love! 20 But no; when the earth is ground to powder, 21 when your Lord comes down with the angels, rank upon rank, 22 And Hell is brought near, that day will man remember, but of what avail will then remembering be? 23 He will say: "Alas! Would that I had sent forth (good deeds) for (this) my life!" 24 Then on that Day Allah will chastise as none other can chastise; 25 none shall bind as He binds. 26 O soul that art at rest! 27 return to your Lord well pleased with him and He will be pleased with you. 28 enter, then, together with My [other true] servants 29 into My Paradise. 30
Almighty God's Truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
