The Sun (Al-Shams)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the sun and its morning brightness, 1 And the moon when it follows the sun, 2 and by the day as it reveals its glory 3 and the night as it veils it darkly! 4 And [by] the sky and He who constructed it 5 by the earth and that (Power) which spread it out 6 By the soul and Him Who propertioned it, 7 Then He showed him what is wrong for him and what is right for him; 8 He who purifies it will indeed be successful, 9 And he fails that corrupts it! 10 Thamood cried lies in their insolence 11 Behold, the most wicked man among them was deputed (for impiety). 12 But the Messenger of Allah said to them: "It is a She-camel of Allah! And (bar her not from) having her drink!" 13 But they cried him lies, and hamstrung her, so their Lord crushed them for their sin, and leveled them: 14 And for Him is no fear of its consequences. 15
