The Sun (Al-Shams)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the Sun and his (glorious) splendour; 1 And the moon when it follows the sun, 2 And by oath of the day when it reveals it 3 and by the night when it draws a veil over it, 4 by the heavens and that (Power) which established them, 5 The earth and its spreading out, 6 By the soul and Him Who propertioned it, 7 and inspired it to lewdness and godfearing! 8 those who purify their souls will certainly have everlasting happiness 9 And miserable is he who hath buried it. 10 Thamud denied [their prophet] by reason of their transgression, 11 When the most wretched of them was sent forth. 12 But the Messenger of Allah [Salih (Saleh)] said to them: "Be cautious! Fear the evil end. That is the she-camel of Allah! (Do not harm it) and bar it not from having its drink!" 13 But they denied him, and they hamstrung her, so Allah doomed them for their sin and rased (their dwellings). 14 He has no fear of its sequel. 15
