The Night (Al-Layl)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the night when it envelopeth, 1 and by the day as it appears radiantly, 2 And the creating of the male and the female, 3 Lo! your effort is dispersed (toward divers ends). 4 For him that gives and fears (Allah) 5 and confirms the reward most fair, 6 Surely We will ease his way unto the state of ease. 7 But as for one who is miserly and unheeding, 8 And rejects goodness, 9 We shall pave his way to hardship, 10 And what will his wealth benefit him when he goes down (in destruction). 11 Truly! Ours it is (to give) guidance, 12 And verify Ours is both the Hereafter and the life present. 13 I have warned you about the fierce blazing fire 14 in which no one will suffer forever except the wicked ones 15 The one who denied and turned away. 16 He will be far away from the most pious. (The first Caliph S. Abu Bakr Siddiq) 17 even he who gives his wealth. to purify himself 18 And no one has with him any boon for which he should be rewarded, 19 acting only for the sake of his Lord the Most High -- 20 And indeed, soon he will be very pleased. 21
