The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the night when it envelopeth, 1 And the day when it shines in all its glory, 2 And Him Who hath created male and female, 3 Verily, (the ends) ye strive for are diverse. 4 So for one who gave and practised piety 5 And testifieth to the Good, 6 Surely We will ease his way unto the state of ease. 7 But as for him who is a miser, and self-sufficient, 8 And rejects goodness, 9 We will indeed make smooth for him the path to Misery; 10 And his wealth will not avail him when he perishes. 11 Surely, it is for Us to provide guidance -- 12 And truly, unto Us (belong) the last (Hereafter) and the first (this world). 13 Therefor have I warned you of the flaming Fire 14 Which only the most wretched must endure, 15 who gives the lie to the truth and turns away [from it]. 16 One who fears God shall be kept away from it -- 17 [He] who gives [from] his wealth to purify himself 18 And no one has done a favour to him, for which he should be compensated. 19 only seeking the Face of his Lord the Most High; 20 and he shall surely be satisfied. 21
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
