The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the Night as it conceals (the light); 1 And the day when it shines in brightness, 2 Consider the creation of the male and the female! 3 surely your striving is to diverse ends. 4 Yet he who gives to others and has fear, 5 and confirms the reward most fair, 6 We will ease him toward ease. 7 But he who does not give and is unconcerned, 8 And denied the best matter, 9 Surely We will ease his way unto adversity. 10 his wealth shall not avail him when he perishes. 11 Lo! Ours it is (to give) the guidance 12 and to Us belong the Next Life and the present. 13 I have now warned you of the Blazing Fire, 14 None shall roast therein but the most wretched, 15 Who give the lie to Truth and turn their backs. 16 The pious ones will be safe from this fire 17 Who giveth his wealth that he may grow (in goodness). 18 And is under no one's obligation to return his favour, 19 Except the seeking of the pleasure of his Lord, the Most High. 20 And soon will they attain (complete) satisfaction. 21
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
