The Night (Al-Layl)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the night when it covers 1 and by the day as it appears radiantly, 2 And Him who created the male and female, 3 Verily, (the ends) ye strive for are diverse. 4 Then as for him who gives away and guards (against evil), 5 And affirms goodness, 6 Surely We will ease his way unto the state of ease. 7 But he who does not give and is unconcerned, 8 and calls the ultimate good a lie 9 Unto him therefore We shall Indeed make easy the path to hardship. 10 Nor will his wealth profit him when he falls headlong (into the Pit). 11 Surely upon Us rests the guidance, 12 and to Us belong the hereafter and the worldly life. 13 So, I warn you of the blazing Fire. 14 in which no one will suffer forever except the wicked ones 15 He who denieth and turneth away. 16 The pious ones will be safe from this fire 17 [He] who gives [from] his wealth to purify himself 18 and owes no favour to anyone, which is to be repaid, 19 but only to seek the good pleasure of his Lord Most High. 20 surely, he shall be satisfied. 21
