The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the night enshrouding 1 by the day when it appears radiant, 2 Consider the creation of the male and the female! 3 That your endeavour is for different ends. 4 As for him who gives and is godfearing 5 And testifieth to the Good, 6 We will indeed make smooth for him the path to Bliss. 7 As for him who was a miser and behaved with aversion (to Allah), 8 and have no faith in receiving any reward (from God). 9 For him We shall ease the way of adversity, 10 and his wealth shall be of no avail to him when he perishes. 11 Surely it is for Us to show the Right Way, 12 and to Us belong the hereafter and the worldly life. 13 and so I warn you of the raging fire 14 None will [enter to] burn therein except the most wretched one. 15 He who denieth and turneth away. 16 and from which the most godfearing shall be removed, 17 the Godfearing who spends his wealth to purify himself; 18 And have in his mind no favour from anyone for which a reward is expected in return, 19 Except as seeking (to fulfil) the purpose of his Lord Most High. 20 and such, indeed, shall in time be well-pleased. 21
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
