The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the night enshrouding 1 And by the day as it appears in brightness; 2 and That which created the male and the female, 3 your striving is indeed to different ends! 4 Then as for him who giveths and feareth Him. 5 and affirmed the Truth of goodness: 6 We will indeed make smooth for him the path to Bliss. 7 But he who is greedy miser and thinks himself self-sufficient. 8 and have no faith in receiving any reward (from God). 9 We will facilitate for him the difficult end. 10 When he falls (into Hell), his wealth will not help him. 11 Indeed guiding is upon Us. 12 And lo! unto Us belong the latter portion and the former. 13 I have now warned you of a Blazing Fire, 14 Which only the most wretched must endure, 15 who gives the lie to the truth and turns away [from it]. 16 And away from it shall be kept the one who guards most (against evil), 17 one who gives his wealth to become purified, 18 and confers no favour on any man for recompense, 19 Except the seeking of the pleasure of his Lord, the Most High. 20 and such, indeed, shall in time be well-pleased. 21
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
