The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the night when it covers 1 By the Day as it appears in glory; 2 and That which created the male and the female, 3 Verily your endeavour is diverse. 4 Thus, as for him who gives [to others] and is conscious of God, 5 And believeth in goodness; 6 We shall surely ease him to the Path of Easing; 7 And as for him who is niggardly and considers himself free from need (of Allah), 8 and rejects what is right, 9 We will indeed make smooth for him the path to Misery; 10 And his riches will not avail him when he falls headlong (into the Abyss). 11 Surely upon Us rests the guidance, 12 And most surely Ours is the hereafter and the former. 13 I have now warned you of the Blazing Fire, 14 None shall reach it but those most unfortunate ones 15 Who had denied and turned away. 16 And away from it shall be kept the one who guards most (against evil), 17 one who gives his wealth to become purified, 18 and owes no favour to anyone, which is to be repaid, 19 but only out of a longing for the countenance of his Sustainer, the All-Highest: 20 And he shall soon be well-pleased. 21
God the Almighty always says the truth.
