Al-Duhaa

The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)

11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)

In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace

By the Glorious Morning Light, 1 and by the calm of night, 2 Thy Lord hath not forsaken thee nor doth He hate thee, 3 for, indeed, the life to come will be better for thee than this earlier part [of thy life]! 4 And indeed, in time will thy Sustainer grant thee [what thy heart desires,] and thou shalt be well-pleased. 5 Did He not find you an orphan and take care of you? 6 Did He not find thee erring, and guide thee? 7 And found thee in want, and given thee sufficiency? 8 Therefore do not oppress the orphan. 9 And do not rebuke the beggar. 10 and of thy Sustainer's blessings shalt thou [ever] speak. 11

True are the words of God the Almighty.
