Al-Duhaa

The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)

11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)

Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

By the white forenoon 1 and the night when it grows still and dark. 2 Thy Lord hath not forsaken thee, nor is He displeased. 3 The Last shall be better for you than the First. 4 And presently thy Lord shall give unto thee so that thou shalt be well-pleased. 5 Did He not find you (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) an orphan and gave you a refuge? 6 And found you deeply engrossed in His love, so directed you? 7 And found you in need, so made you prosperous? 8 Therefore, be not harsh with the orphan; 9 And as for the petitioner, do not repel [him]. 10 And abundantly proclaim the favours of your Lord. 11
