The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Read with the name of your Lord Who created, 1 created man out of a germ-cell 2 Proclaim! And thy Lord is Most Bountiful,- 3 who, by the pen, taught the human being: 4 Taught man what he did not know. 5 By no means: Verily man exorbitateth. 6 Because he sees himself free from want. 7 Verily, to thy Lord is the return (of all). 8 What do you think? Have you seen he who forbids 9 A votary when he (turns) to pray? 10 Hast thou seen if he relieth on the guidance (of Allah) 11 or enjoins true piety? 12 Hast thou seen if he denieth (Allah's guidance) and is froward? 13 Did he not know that God sees? 14 Yes certainly, if he does not desist, We will seize him by the forelock. 15 by the lying forelock steeped in sin. 16 and then let him summon [to his aid] the counsels of his own [spurious] wisdom, 17 We, will call the Zabania (the harsh angels of Hell). 18 No! Do not obey him. But prostrate and draw near [to Allah]. ۩ 19
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
