The Embryo (Al-Alaq)

In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Read in the name of your Lord Who created. 1 He created man from a clot. 2 Recite! Your Lord is the most Honorable One, 3 Who teacheth by the pen, 4 Taught man that which he knew not. 5 Indeed, surely the human is very insolent 6 because he thinks himself self-sufficient: 7 Surely to your Lord is your return. 8 Have you seen the one who prohibits 9 A slave (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) when he prays? 10 Hast thou seen if he relieth on the guidance (of Allah) 11 and enjoins piety? 12 Have you considered if he gives the lie to the truth and turns (his) back? 13 Is he then unaware that Allah seeth? 14 Nay, if he desist not, We shall most surely drag him down upon his forehead 15 a lying, sinful forelock. 16 Then, let him call (for help) to his council (of comrades): 17 We, will call the Zabania (the harsh angels of Hell). 18 No, not at all. Never obey him. But prostrate yourself and become nigh (to your Lord). ۩ 19

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
