The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Read: In the name of thy Lord Who createth, 1 He created man from a clot of blood. 2 Proclaim! And thy Lord is Most Bountiful,- 3 who taught by the Pen, 4 He taught the human being what he did not know. 5 Nay, but verily man is rebellious 6 Because he sees himself self-sufficient. 7 Verily unto thy Lord is the return. 8 Seest thou one who forbids- 9 A votary when he turns to his devotions? 10 What is your opinion – if he were upon guidance, 11 or bade to godfearing -- 12 Hast thou considered whether he may [not] be giving the lie to the truth and turning his back [upon it]? 13 Does he not know that Allah does see? 14 Indeed, if he does not desist, We will seize him by the forelock, 15 A lying, sinful forelock! 16 Then, let him call upon his council (of helpers), 17 We, will call the Zabania (the harsh angels of Hell). 18 No indeed! Do not obey him, but prostrate yourself and come closer to God. ۩ 19
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
