The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Recite in the name of your Lord who created - 1 He created man from a clot of blood. 2 Read, for your Lord is most beneficent, 3 Who taught by the pen, 4 Taught man that which he knew not. 5 Yes indeed, man is surely rebellious. 6 For he thinks he is sufficient in himself. 7 for, behold, unto thy Sustainer all must return. 8 What is your opinion – regarding him who forbids – 9 a worshiper when he prays. 10 Bethinkest thou, if he is himself guided, 11 Or he commandeth piety? 12 Seest thou if he denies (Truth) and turns away? 13 Knoweth he not that Allah beholdeth? 14 By no means! If he desist not We shall seize and deal him by the forelock 15 By the lying, the sinful forelock. 16 Then let him call his associates; 17 We will call the guards of Hell (to deal with him)! 18 No indeed! Do not obey him, but prostrate yourself and come closer to God. ۩ 19
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
