In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Recite thou in the name of thy Lord Who hath created 1 Created man, out of a (mere) clot of congealed blood: 2 Recite thou: And thy Lord is the Most Bounteous, 3 Who teacheth by the pen, 4 taught man what he did not know! 5 Nay, but verily man is rebellious 6 whenever he believes himself to be self-sufficient: 7 Indeed, to your Lord is the return. 8 Did you see him who forbids 9 a servant (of Allah) when he prays? 10 What thinkest thou? If he were upon guidance 11 Or enjoins Righteousness? 12 What will happen if the prohibiting rejects the Truth and turns away from it!? 13 Is he then unaware that Allah seeth? 14 Nay! If he (Abu Jahl) ceases not, We will catch him by the forelock, 15 A lying, sinful forelock! 16 So, let him call upon his way! 17 We, will call the Zabania (the harsh angels of Hell). 18 (Muhammad), never yield to him! Prostrate yourself and try to come closer to God. ۩ 19
