The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Recite in the name of your Lord Who created, 1 created man from a clot of congealed blood. 2 Recite, and your Lord is the most Generous - 3 Who teacheth by the pen, 4 taught man what he did not know! 5 Yes indeed, man is surely rebellious. 6 Because he considers himself self-sufficient. 7 Indeed, to your Lord is the returning. 8 Bethinkest thou him who forbiddeth, 9 a servant (of Allah) when he prays? 10 Hast thou considered whether he is on the right way, 11 Or enjoins Righteousness? 12 Hast thou seen if he denieth (Allah's guidance) and is froward? 13 Does he not know that Allah sees? 14 Nay! if he desist not, We would certainly smite his forehead, 15 The lying, sinful forelock - 16 Let him call on his associates for help 17 We will now call the guards! 18 (Muhammad), never yield to him! Prostrate yourself and try to come closer to God. ۩ 19
