Proof (Al-Bayyinah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Those who disbelieved from among the followers of the Book and the polytheists could not have separated (from the faithful) until there had come to them the clear evidence: 1 an apostle from God, conveying [unto them] revelations blest with purity, 2 in writings wherein are scriptures, absolutely true and unerring. 3 And those who are vouchsafed the Book divided not save after there had come unto them the evidence. 4 And withal, they were not enjoined aught but that they should worship God, sincere in their faith in Him alone, turning away from all that is false; and that they should be constant in prayer; and that they should spend in charity: for this is a moral law endowed with ever-true soundness and clarity. 5 Indeed, they who disbelieved among the People of the Scripture and the polytheists will be in the fire of Hell, abiding eternally therein. Those are the worst of creatures. 6 Indeed those who accepted faith and did good deeds – it is they who are the best among the creation. 7 Their recompense is with their Lord; Gardens of Eden, underneath which rivers flow, where they shall live for ever. Allah is wellpleased with them, and they are wellpleased with Him. That is for he who fears his Lord! 8
