Proof (Al-Bayyinah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
THOSE AMONG THE people of the Book who disbelieve, and the idolaters, would not have been freed (from false beliefs) until the clear proof came to them -- 1 a Messenger (Muhammad) from God, reciting to them parts of the purified, 2 therein true Books. 3 Nor did the People of the Book make schisms, until after there came to them Clear Evidence. 4 And they are ordered naught else than to serve Allah, keeping religion pure for Him, as men by nature upright, and to establish worship and to pay the poor-due. That is true religion. 5 Surely those who disbelieve from among the followers of the Book and the polytheists shall be in the fire of hell, abiding therein; they are the worst of men. 6 But those that believe and work righteous deeds, they are the best of creatures. 7 Their reward with Allah will be gardens of perpetual residence beneath which rivers flow, wherein they will abide forever, Allah being pleased with them and they with Him. That is for whoever has feared his Lord. 8
