Al-Aadeyaat
The Galloppers (Al-Aadeyaat)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Afternoon (Al-'Asr) before Bounty (Al-Kawthar)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the snorting courses, 1 by the strikers of fire, 2 as they gallop to make raids at dawn, 3 and leave behind a cloud of dust 4 thereby storming [blindly] into any host! 5 Indeed man is very ungrateful towards his Lord. 6 and to this, behold, he [himself] bears witness indeed: 7 He certainly has a strong love for wealth and riches. 8 ۞ Knoweth he not that, when the contents of the graves are poured forth 9 And all what lies in the breasts is opened – 10 Surely, on that Day, they will know that their Lord had full knowledge of them all. 11
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
