Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

The mutual rivalry for piling up (the good things of this world) diverts you (from the more serious things), 1 Until you visit the graves (i.e. till you die). 2 Lo! presently ye shall know. 3 Nay, but ye will come to know! 4 Indeed, did you know with certain knowledge 5 You should most certainly have seen the hell; 6 Then ye shall surely behold with the surety of vision. 7 Then, on that day, you will surely be questioned regarding the favours. 8

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
