Al-Hummazah

The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate

Woe to every slanderer and backbiter 1 Who pileth up wealth and layeth it by, 2 He thinketh that his wealth will render him immortal. 3 By no means! He shall surely be cast into the Crushing Fire. 4 Ah, what will convey unto thee what the Consuming One is! 5 A fire kindled by God, 6 the Fire that shall rise to the hearts (of criminals). 7 Verily it will close in upon them, 8 in outstretched columns. 9

True are the words of God the Almighty.
