Al-Hummazah

The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Woe to every slanderer and backbiter. 1 who amasses wealth and counts it, 2 He thinks that his wealth will make him immortal. 3 By no means! They will be thrown into hutamah. 4 How will you comprehend what Hutama is? 5 It is a Fire kindled by God. 6 Which will climb on to the hearts. 7 Lo! it is closed in on them 8 in towering columns. 9

God the Almighty always says the truth.
