Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful

May the hands of Abu Lahab be ruined, and ruined is he. 1 No profit to him from all his wealth, and all his gains! 2 Anon he shall roast into Fire having flame. 3 and his wife, the carrier of the firewood, 4 Around her neck is a rope of [twisted] fiber. 5

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
