Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

DOOMED are the hands of him of the glowing countence: and doomed is he! 1 His wealth and what he earns will not avail him. 2 He will suffer in a blazing fire 3 And his wife also: the firewood carrier; 4 In her neck is a twisted rope of Masad (palm fibre). 5

God Almighty has spoken the truth.
