The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
WOE UNTO THOSE who give short measure: 1 Those who, when they have to receive by measure from men, exact full measure, 2 but who, when they measure or weigh for others, give less than their due. 3 Do they not realize that they will be resurrected 4 on a fateful Day. 5 The day all mankind will stand before the Lord of all the worlds? 6 Indeed! The record of the wicked is in the Sijjin -- 7 And what could make thee conceive what that that mode inescapable will be? 8 (There is) a Register (fully) inscribed. 9 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies, 10 who cry lies to the Day of Doom; 11 And none belieth it save each trespasser, sinner. 12 When Our revelations are recited before him, he says: "These are fables of long ago." 13 They will never have faith. In fact, their hearts are stained from their deeds. 14 By no means! Verily on that Day from their Lord they will be shut out. 15 and then, behold, they shall enter the blazing fire 16 Then it shall be said to them, 'This is that you cried lies to.' 17 Nay, but the record of the righteous is in 'Illiyin - 18 and what shall teach thee what is Illiyun? 19 It is [their destination recorded in] a register inscribed 20 Witnessed by those who are honoured. 21 Most surely the righteous shall be in bliss, 22 On couches face to face. 23 Thou wilt recognise in their faces the beaming brightness of Bliss. 24 They are made to quaff of a pure drink that is sealed (to others). 25 The sealing of it is (with) musk; and for that let the aspirers aspire. 26 Blended with the water of Tasnim, (heights ultimate of evolution), 27 a fountain at which the chosen ones shall drink. 28 The sinners had been laughing at the believers. 29 And when they passed by them, they would exchange derisive glances. 30 And when they returned to their own folk, they returned jesting; 31 and when they saw the believers, they said: “Lo! These are the erring ones”; 32 And they were not sent to be keepers over them. 33 But today the believers are laughing at the unbelievers; 34 seated upon their couches, they are looking around. 35 Surely the disbelievers are rewarded as they did. 36
