Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Has there come to you the narration of the overwhelming (i.e. the Day of Resurrection); 1 Some faces, that Day, will be humiliated, 2 Labouring (hard in the worldly life by worshipping others besides Allah), weary (in the Hereafter with humility and disgrace). 3 Burning in the scorching fire, 4 They will be given to drink from a boiling spring, 5 no food for them except thorny plants 6 which neither sustains, nor satisfy hunger. 7 (Whereas other) faces on that Day will be joyful, 8 Well-pleased with their endeavour, 9 In a lofty garden, 10 They shall hear therein no vain discourse; 11 Therein will be a flowing spring, 12 And within it are couches placed on high, 13 and goblets placed ready, 14 And arranged carpets. 15 And rich carpets (all) spread out. 16 Will they not then consider the camels, how they are created? 17 And at the sky - how it is raised? 18 and how the mountains were firmly fixed? 19 And at the earth, how it is spread out? 20 Therefore advise; indeed you are a proclaimer of advice. (The Holy Prophet is a Remembrance from Allah.) 21 you are not their keeper. 22 Other than him who turns his back and denies, 23 Then Allah will punish him with the greatest punishment. 24 Surely to Us is their return; 25 Then indeed, upon Us is their account. 26
True are the words of God the Almighty.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
