And indeed We saved the Children of Israel from the humiliating torment, 30 (We delivered them) from Pharaoh. Lo! he was a tyrant of the wanton ones. 31 And We chose them aforetime above the nations, knowingly, 32 And granted them Signs in which there was a manifest trial 33 As to these (Quraish), they say forsooth: 34 There is naught but our first death, and we shall not be raised again. 35 "Then bring (back) our forefathers, if what ye say is true!" 36 What! Are they better than the people of Tubba and those who were before them? We destroyed them because they were guilty of sin. 37 And We did not create the heavens and earth and that between them in play. 38 We created them in nothing else except the truth. But most do not know. 39 Truly, the Day of Decision is the appointed time for all of them, 40 The Day when no protector can avail his client in aught, and no help can they receive, 41 save those to whom God shows mercy. Surely, He is the Mighty, the Merciful One. 42
