The News (Al-Naba')
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ What are they asking each other about? 1 About the great news, (i.e. Islamic Monotheism, the Quran, which Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) brought and the Day of Resurrection, etc.), 2 Concerning which they are in disagreement. 3 By no means! anon they shall know. 4 Verily, verily they shall soon (come to) know! 5 Have We not made the earth an even expanse? 6 And the mountains as stakes? 7 And it is We who created you in pairs. 8 And made sleep for you to rest, 9 And have appointed the night as a cloak, 10 And the day for seeking livelihood. 11 And We have built above you seven strong ones, 12 and placed therein a hot, shining lamp, 13 And We sent down rain from water-laden clouds pouring in torrents 14 to make the seeds, plants, 15 And gardens of thick foliage. 16 Surely the Day of Judgement has an appointed time; 17 The Day the Horn is blown and you will come forth in multitudes 18 The heavens will have openings like doors. 19 and when the mountains are made to vanish as if they had been a mirage. 20 Surely, Hell lies in wait, 21 The destination of the rebellious. 22 therein they shall abide for ages, 23 and where they will taste neither coolness nor any drink 24 Save boiling water and a paralysing cold: 25 A fitting recompense (for them). 26 Surely they feared not the account, 27 And they denied Our signs to the extreme. 28 And everything have We recorded in a Book. 29 'Taste! We shall not increase you except in punishment' 30
