So, when the envoys came to the folk of Lot, 61 He said, "Indeed, you are people unknown." 62 They said, “In fact we have brought to you the matter which these people doubted.” 63 And bring thee the Truth, and lo! we are truth-tellers. 64 So set out with your family during a portion of the night and follow behind them and let not anyone among you look back and continue on to where you are commanded." 65 We communicated to him Our decree that the guilty ones would be destroyed by the morning. 66 The people of the town rejoicingly 67 He said: verily these are my guests, so disgrace me not. 68 Have fear of Allah, and do not humiliate me." 69 They said, "Did we not forbid you to extend hospitality to strangers?" 70 He said: "There are my daughters (to marry), if ye must act (so)." 71 Verily by your life they were utterly confused in their (lustful) drunkenness. 72 And thereupon the blast [of Our punishment] overtook them at the time of sunrise, 73 and We turned those [sinful towns] upside down, and rained down upon them stone-hard blows of chastisement pre-ordained. 74 Surely, in that there are signs for those who contemplate. 75 And indeed that township is upon a road still in use. 76 Verily, herein lies a message indeed for all who believe [in God]. 77 The dwellers of the Wood (near Midian) were also wicked. 78 So, We took vengeance on them. They are both on an open highway, plain to see. 79
