The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
When the sun (with its spacious light) is folded up; 1 And when the stars shall fall; 2 And when the mountains are driven. 3 And when milch camels roam abandoned. 4 And when the wild animals are made to go forth, 5 And when the seas shall become as blazing Fire or shall overflow; 6 when the souls are coupled (to their body), 7 And the little girl buried alive is asked 8 For what crime she was killed; 9 And when the Writs shall be lain open, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped, 11 When the Blazing Fire is kindled to fierce heat; 12 when Paradise is brought close: 13 (Then) every soul will know what it had prepared (for itself). 14 But nay! I swear by the stars, 15 orbiting, disappearing; 16 And the Night as it dissipates; 17 and the first breath of morning. 18 Verily, this is the Word (this Quran brought by) a most honourable messenger [Jibrael (Gabriel), from Allah to the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him)]. 19 [Who is] possessed of power and with the Owner of the Throne, secure [in position], 20 obeyed, and honest. 21 Your companion is not mad. 22 in truth he saw him (Gabriel) on the clear horizon, 23 he is not grudging of the Unseen. 24 And the Qur'an is not the word of a devil, expelled [from the heavens]. 25 So where are you going? 26 It is not except a reminder to the worlds 27 For whoever wills among you to take a right course. 28 And ye shall not will unless it be that Allah, the Lord of the worlds, willeth. 29
