'Lord' said Moses, 'expand my chest, 25 "Ease my task for me; 26 Unloose the knot upon my tongue, 27 “In order that they may understand my speech.” 28 "And appoint for me a helper from my family, 29 Let it be my brother Aaron 30 "Add to my strength through him, 31 And associate him (with me) in my affair, 32 That we may hallow Thee oft. 33 and may remember You much. 34 Verily, Thou seest all that is within us!" 35 Allah said: "You are granted your request, O Musa (Moses)! 36 And We had already conferred favor upon you another time, 37 when We revealed what was revealed unto thy mother: 38 saying: "Put him in the box and cast it into the river. The river will cast him on to the bank, and he shall be taken up by an enemy of Mine and an enemy of his." I lavished My Love on you, and to be formed in My Sight. 39 "When your sister went and said: 'Shall I show you one who will nurse him?' So We restored you to your mother, that she might cool her eyes and she should not grieve. Then you did kill a man, but We saved you from great distress and tried you with a heavy trial. Then you stayed a number of years with the people of Madyan (Midian). Then you came here according to the fixed term which I ordained (for you), O Musa (Moses)! 40 I have chosen you for Me. 41 Go, thou and thy brother, with My tokens, and be not faint in remembrance of Me. 42 Go, both of you, to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed. 43 "But speak to him mildly; perchance he may take warning or fear (Allah)." 44 They said, "Lord, we are afraid of his transgression and rebellion against us". 45 He said: "Fear not: for I am with you: I hear and see (everything). 46 So go ye unto him and say: Lo! we are two messengers of thy Lord. So let the children of Israel go with us, and torment them not. We bring thee a token from thy Lord. And peace will be for him who followeth right guidance. 47 "'Verily it has been revealed to us that the Penalty (awaits) those who reject and turn away.'" 48 He asked: "Who then is that Lord of yours, O Moses?" 49 'Our Lord' he replied, 'is He Who gave everything its creation and then guided it' 50 He said: What then is the state of the generations of old? 51 He said: The knowledge thereof is with my Lord in a Record. My Lord neither erreth nor forgetteth, 52 [It is He] who has made for you the earth as a bed [spread out] and inserted therein for you roadways and sent down from the sky, rain and produced thereby categories of various plants. 53 Eat (for yourselves) and pasture your cattle: verily, in this are Signs for men endued with understanding. 54
