Messengers! Eat of that which is good and do good deeds; I have knowledge of the things you do. 51 This community of yours is one community, and I am your Lord; so hold Me alone in fear. 52 But people later cut up their religion into bits, each group rejoicing in what they have. 53 But leave them in their confused ignorance for a time. 54 Do they think that by increasing their wealth and children 55 have no other purpose except to help them in acquiring material benefits? No indeed. But they do not understand. 56 Surely those who tremble in fear of their Lord 57 And those who believe in the signs of their Lord – 58 and who do not ascribe divinity to aught but their Sustainer, 59 and who give whatever they [have to] give with their hearts trembling at the thought that unto their Sustainer they must return: 60 it is they who vie with one another in doing good works and shall be the foremost in doing so. 61 We do not impose on any soul what is beyond its capacity. We have the Book which speaks the truth and no injustice will be done to it. 62 Nay, but their hearts are covered (blind) from understanding this (the Quran), and they have other (evil) deeds, besides, which they are doing. 63 But when We seize with the punishment those of them that live in ease, they groan. 64 Invoke not loudly this day! Certainly, you shall not be helped by Us. 65 My signs were recited to you, but upon your heels you withdrew, 66 In arrogance regarding it, conversing by night, speaking evil. 67 Is it then that they do not ponder over what is said, or is it that there has come to them that which did not come to their fathers of old? 68 Or is it that they did not recognize their Messenger (Muhammad SAW) so they deny him? 69 Or do they say, "In him is madness?" Rather, he brought them the truth, but most of them, to the truth, are averse. 70 And should the truth follow their low desires, surely the heavens and the earth and all those who are therein would have perished. Nay! We have brought to them their reminder, but from their reminder they turn aside. 71 Or is it that thou askest them for some recompense? But the recompense of thy Lord is best: He is the Best of those who give sustenance. 72 (Muhammad), you certainly have called them to the right path, 73 but those who do not believe in the Hereafter are ever prone to deviate from the Right Way. 74 ۞ Did We have mercy on them, and remove the affliction that is upon them, they would persist in their insolence wandering blindly. 75 Already have We grasped them with punishment, but they humble not themselves unto their Lord, nor do they pray, 76 until We opened the gate of greater torment (death) and they suddenly found themselves in despair. 77
