The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
O the Cloaked One! (Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) 1 Arise and warn, 2 and exalt your Lord, 3 purify your garments; 4 And uncleanliness avoid 5 do not bestow a favour in the expectation of receiving more in return; 6 but unto thy Sustainer turn in patience. 7 When the Trumpet is sounded, 8 that day will be a harsh day, 9 Dolorous for the unbelievers. 10 Leave Me with him whom I alone have created, 11 And gave him vast wealth. 12 and sons standing before him, 13 and to whose life I gave so wide a scope: 14 then he is eager that I should do more. 15 By no means! He has been stubbornly hostile to Our revelation: 16 I shall force him to endure a painful uphill climb! 17 For he thought and he plotted;- 18 Ruin seize him, how did he hatch a scheme? 19 And once more let him be cursed, how he plotted! 20 Then he thought; 21 and then he frowns and glares, 22 Then he turned back and was haughty; 23 and said: 'This is no more than traced sorcery; 24 This is naught but the word of a mortal. 25 Soon will I cast him into Hell-Fire! 26 Would that you really knew what hell is! 27 It spares nothing; it leaves nothing intact; 28 Blackening the skins. 29 Over it are nineteen keepers. 30 We have appointed only angels to be masters of the Fire, and their number We have appointed only as a trial for the unbelievers, that those who were given the Book may have certainty, and that those who believe may increase in belief, and that those who were given the Book and those who believe may not be in-doubt, and that those in whose hearts there is sickness, and the unbelievers, may say, 'What did God intend by this as a similitude?' So God leads astray whomsoever He will, and He guides whomsoever He will; and none knows the hosts of thy Lord but He. And it is naught but a Reminder to mortals. 31
