Jonah too was one of the Envoys; 139 when he ran away to the laden ship 140 and cast lots, and he was among the losers (of the lots that were cast). 141 Then he was swallowed by a large fish as he was worthy of blame. 142 Had he not glorified God, 143 He would have remained in its belly till the day when all will be raised. 144 ۞ We cast him out of the fish unto dry land and he was sick. 145 and caused a gourd tree to grow over him, 146 And We sent him to a hundred thousand (folk) or more 147 They believed in him so We granted them enjoyment for an appointed time. 148 So inquire of them, [O Muhammad], "Does your Lord have daughters while they have sons? 149 Or that We created the angels female, and they are witnesses (thereto)? 150 Is it not a lie invented by them when they say: 151 'God has begotten?' They are truly liars. 152 Does He prefer sons to daughters? 153 What is the matter with you, how is it that you judge? 154 “So do you not ponder?” 155 Or is there for you a plain authority? 156 Then produce your writ, if ye are truthful. 157 And some people have invented a kinship between Him and all manner of invisible forces although [even] these invisible forces know well that, verily, they [who thus blaspheme against God] shall indeed be arraigned [before Him on Judgment Day: for] 158 God is far above what they attribute to Him, 159 Save single-minded slaves of Allah. 160 But as for you, and that you serve, 161 shall not be able to tempt anyone away from Allah 162 Save him who will go to hell. 163 [All forces of nature praise God and say:] "Among us, too, there is none but has a place assigned to it [by Him]; 164 Verily, we (angels), we stand in rows for the prayers (as you Muslims stand in rows for your prayers); 165 And we are those who sing hallelujas to Him." 166 They used to say before: 167 “If we had some advice from the earlier generations,” 168 "We should certainly have been Servants of Allah, sincere (and devoted)!" 169 They therefore denied it, so they will soon come to know. 170 And verily Our word went forth of old unto Our bondmen sent (to warn) 171 that they shall certainly be succoured, 172 And that Our host, they verily would be the victors. 173 So turn away (O Muhammad SAW) from them for a while, 174 And watch them (how they fare), and they soon shall see (how thou farest)! 175 So are they being impatient for Our punishment? 176 When it descends upon their courtyards, evil will be the morning of those forewarned. 177 Stay away from them for a while 178 and see; and they too shall soon see. 179 Glory be to thy Lord, the Lord of Glory, above that they describe! 180 And peace be on the apostles. 181 And all praise unto Allah the Lord of the worlds. 182
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
