Hizb 46
< random >
And Jonah too was one of the Messengers. 139 [Mention] when he ran away to the laden ship. 140 And he drew lots and was among the losers. 141 And the fish swallowed him while he was blameworthy; 142 And had he not been one of those who glorify (Allah) 143 he would have lingered in its belly till the Day they are resurrected. 144 ۞ We cast him out of the fish unto dry land and he was sick. 145 And We caused to grow over him a tree, a gourd. 146 And We sent him towards a hundred thousand people, in fact more. 147 And they believed, whrefore We let them enjoy life for a season. 148 So ask them for a pronouncement -- Has thy Lord daughters, and they sons? 149 Or created We the angels females while they were present? 150 Oh, verily, it is out of their own [inclination to] falsehood that some people assert, 151 'God has begotten a son.' They are certainly liars. 152 Has He (then) chosen daughters rather than sons? 153 What is the matter with you, how is it that you judge? 154 “So do you not ponder?” 155 Or have ye an authority manifest? 156 Then produce your scriptures, if you are telling the truth. 157 They link Him with jinns by lineage, yet the jinns know they will be brought before Him. 158 God is too glorious for what they ascribe to Him 159 Except the chosen bondmen of Allah. 160 But as for you, and that you serve, 161 can lure away from God any 162 Except those who are predestined to burn in Hell! 163 There is not one of us (angels) but has his known place (or position); 164 Lo! we, even we are they who set the ranks, 165 And indeed, we are those who exalt Allah." 166 And indeed, the disbelievers used to say, 167 "If we had a reminder as had the men of old (before the coming of Prophet Muhammad SAW as a Messenger of Allah). 168 “We would certainly be the chosen bondmen of Allah.” 169 Yet now (that it has come) they refuse to believe in it; but they will come to know soon. 170 Our Word had already preceded Our worshipers, the Messengers, 171 Most surely they shall be the assisted ones 172 and Our armies shall be the victors. 173 So turn thou from them for a while, 174 And wait; they will come to know soon. 175 Do they seek to hasten Our chastisement? 176 But when it cometh home to them, then it will be a hapless morn for those who have been warned. 177 Withdraw from them awhile 178 And (then) see, for they too shall see. 179 Your Lord, the Lord of Honor, is too exalted to be considered as they describe Him. 180 So peace be on the messengers, 181 And Praise to Allah, the Lord and Cherisher of the Worlds. 182
God the Almighty always says the truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
