The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun (with its spacious light) is folded up; 1 And when the stars fall, dispersing, 2 And when the mountains are removed 3 the young barren camels are abandoned, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together, 5 And when the seas are set on fire, 6 when the souls are coupled (to their body), 7 and when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 For what crime she was put to death; 9 When the scrolls are laid open; 10 when heaven is stripped, 11 And when the Scorch shall be made to blaze, 12 And when the Garden is brought near;- 13 Then every soul shall know that which it hath presented. 14 I swear by the receding stars. 15 Those that run [their courses] and disappear - 16 And by the night when it departeth, 17 and the morning when it extends, 18 That this is indeed the word of an honoured Messenger, 19 endowed with power and held in honour by the Lord of the Throne -- 20 Obeyed there [in the heavens] and trustworthy. 21 Your Companion is not mad, 22 And he has already seen Gabriel in the clear horizon. 23 and he is not one to begrudge others the knowledge [of whatever has been revealed to him] out of that which is beyond the reach of human Perception. 24 Nor is it the word of a satan accursed. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 It is not except a reminder to the worlds 27 For whoever wills among you to take a right course. 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Lord of the Universe, so wills it [to show you that way]. 29
