The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ When the Event (i.e. the Day of Resurrection) befalls. 1 Then will no (soul) entertain falsehood concerning its coming. 2 abasing, exalting, 3 When the earth will be shaken with a terrible shake. 4 and the mountains will crumble 5 and become a dust, scattered, 6 You shall then become three groups. 7 Companions of the Right, what are the Companions of the Right? 8 And the People on the Left: and how miserable will be the People on the Left! 9 But the foremost shall be [they who in life were] the foremost [in faith and good works]: 10 Those! they shall be the brought nigh, 11 in the Gardens of Delight 12 A multitude of those (foremost) will be from the first generations (who embraced Islam). 13 And a few from the later generations. 14 They will recline on jewelled couches 15 Reclining on them, facing each other. 16 There wait on them immortal youths 17 with goblets, and ewers, and a cup from a spring 18 Unheady, uninebriating; 19 they will also go about them with the fruits of which they may choose, 20 And the flesh of fowl such as they desire. 21 And wide eyed houris 22 Like unto hidden pearls, 23 A Reward for the deeds of their past (life). 24 They will not hear any useless speech in it, or any sin. 25 except each other's greetings of, "Peace be with you". 26 And the companions of the right hand; how happy are the companions of the right hand! 27 [They will be] among lote trees with thorns removed 28 and serried acacias, 29 Lengthened shadows, 30 and flowing water 31 and an abundance of fruits, 32 unfailing and not forbidden. 33 And raised couches; 34 Lo! We have created them a (new) creation 35 and made them virgins, 36 The beloved of their husbands, of one age. 37 For the companions of the right [who are] 38
