He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ The Prophet frowned and turned away 1 when the blind man approached him, 2 But what could tell thee but that perchance he might grow (in spiritual understanding)?- 3 Or that he might receive admonition, and the teaching might profit him? 4 As for him who regardeth himself self-sufficient 5 to him thou attendest 6 though it is not thy concern, if he does not cleanse himself. 7 But as to him who came to thee striving earnestly, 8 and who has fear of God, 9 of him you were unmindful. 10 No indeed, this is a Reminder; 11 So whosoever willeth - let him be admonished therewlth. 12 (It is) in Records held (greatly) in honour (Al-Lauh Al-Mahfuz). 13 Exalted (in dignity), purified, 14 (Written) by the hands of scribes- 15 and angelic scribes. 16 Accursed is man. How ungrateful is he! 17 From what has God created him? 18 From a drop of liquid; He created him and then set several measures for him. 19 Then (as for) the way-- He has made it easy (for him) 20 Then He causes his death and provides a grave for him. 21 then, when He wills, He raises him. 22 Certainly, he has not duly fulfilled His commands. 23 Let the human being think about (how We produce) his food. 24 We poured out the rains abundantly, 25 Thereafter We cleave the earth in clefts, 26 And caused to grow within it grain 27 and vines, and reeds, 28 And olive and palm trees 29 Orchards thick with trees, 30 and fruits and fodder 31 A provision for you and for your cattle. 32 But when the great calamity comes 33 The day on which a man shall fly from his brother, 34 And from his mother and his father, 35 his wife and his children. 36 On that day, each one has just one issue, which is enough for him. 37 Some faces that Day, will be bright (true believers of Islamic Monotheism). 38 laughing, and rejoicing, 39 And many will be dust-begrimed, 40 and covered by darkness. 41 these, these will be the ones who denied the truth and were immersed in iniquity! 42
