Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the loosed ones successively 1 Which then blow violently in tempestuous Gusts, 2 And by the winds that scatter clouds and rain; 3 and the severally severing 4 by those who bring down the reminder, 5 Whether of Justification or of Warning;- 6 Surely, what you are promised must come to pass. 7 So when the stars are put out, 8 Heavens will rent asunder. 9 And when the mountains are blown away 10 And when the messengers' time has come... 11 If one asks, "To which day have such calamitous events been postponed?" 12 The Day of Judgement. 13 And what will make you comprehend what the day of decision is? 14 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 15 Did We not destroy many a nation of the earlier times? 16 And We shall let them be followed by those of later times: 17 That is what We shall do to those who are guilty of crime. 18 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 19 Did We not create you from contemptible water? 20 Which We placed in a depository safe. 21 For a known term? 22 Thus have We determined [the nature of man's creation]: and excellent indeed is Our power to determine [what is to be]! 23 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle? 25 The living and the dead, 26 And placed therein high mountains and given you to drink sweet water therein? 27 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 28 (It will be said unto them:) Depart unto that (doom) which ye used to deny; 29 Depart unto the shadow falling threefold, 30 "(Which yields) no shade of coolness, and is of no use against the fierce Blaze. 31 It will throw out sparks as logs of wood 32 So like golden camels." 33 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 34 That will be the Day on which they will not (be able to) utter a word, 35 nor shall they be permitted to offer excuses. 36 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 37 This is the Day of Decision; We have gathered you and all the earlier men. 38 If now ye have any wit, outwit Me. 39 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 40
